Opportunities to help build your career!

Career paths with Leighs

Leighs opens the door to exciting career opportunities for motivated and high performing staff.  This includes career paths from Apprentices through to Site Managers and Junior QS's through to QS Managers amongst others.

A number of our team have started with Leighs as Carpenters and have progressed through their careers to Site Managers - with a lot of commitment and self determination of course.

Cadet Scholarship

Leighs is the leader of the next generation of innovative and highly successful construction companies. We push the boundaries and think outside the square, while managing challenging and interesting projects. We are heavily involved in the rebuild of Christchurch, and with a number of large commercial projects underway within the education, healthcare, retail, industrial, office and high-rise sectors we have fantastic opportunities within what is an exciting organisation.

To support their practical learning, students will also undertake agreed periods of paid work experience with Leighs during the holidays in Christchurch. This work experience will be full-time over the summer holidays

Scholarship details

If successful, the scholarship will entitle you to $2,000 towards your domestic fees for a year of study. This will be paid upon receipt of the invoice for study fees.

Holding a scholarship means you agree to participate in paid work experience at Leighs during the Christmas holidays, as a minimum. Such hours can be negotiated with Leighs but would generally be for a minimum of two months. This work would be based in Christchurch.
